City hotel's street food fest, to open more outlets abroad
Chennai, Sept 29 (UNI) A city- based leading hotel chain, 'Namma Veedu' Vasantha Bhavan today launched a ten-day 'Street Food Fest' at its new branch here to cater to attract customers differently.
Managing Director of the hotel, M Ravi told newsmen the festival would recreate the magic of street food through colourfully painted carts, traditional utensils like copper boilers for hot coffee, tea and authentic dishes.
Mr Ravi, who is also President of the Tamil Nadu Hoteliers Association said the sumptuous spread would have everything from pani puri and bhelpuris to the hot idlis, kotthu barota, soups and over 20 other delicious dishes.
He said hotel was started by his father A Muthukrishnan at Tiruchirapalli in 1969 and it was his dream to provide delicious food of high quality to people. In 1974, the first branch of the Namma Veedu Vasantha Bhavan was launched in the city and at present there were eight branches. The hotel also has branches in United States, Dubai and Sri Lanka.
Mrs Swarnalatha Ravi, Director of the hotel said as part of further expansion, branches would be set up in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and more outlets in the USA to popularise Indian vegetarian cuisine.
