Venkatesh, Ancheri, Counha included for national coaching camp
New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Shanmugam Venkatesh, Joe Paul Ancheri, and Alvito D' Counha were among six additional players from the Indian squad which lost to Saudi Arabia in the Asian Cup qualifier on September 6 in the probables announced for a national camp in preparation for the match against Japan to be played on October 11 in Bangalore.
Mahesh Gawli, Habib-ur-Rehman and Bibiano Fernades were the other three included in the 26 players called for the camp to be held in Bangalore from October 1 to 10. Twenty players are expected to get the final selection.
Venkatesh, Rehman, Counha and Bibiano were in the squad for the home tie against the Saudis in Kolkata which India lost 0-3 but left out for the away match on September 6 in Jeddah which India lost 1-7.
India are already out of contention for the Asian Cup after failing to win any of their ties in the qualifiers so far. They had also lost to Japan 0-6 in away match and 0-3 against Yemen in home-leg.
India will travel to Sanaa to play their last qualification match against Yemen on November 15.
Japan and Saudi Arabia have already qualified from the group.
