Utilise modern technology to strengthen security: Rahman Khan

Bangalore, Sep 28 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan today gave a call for strengthening security measures in the country, utilising modern technology.

Inaugurating the 11th International Security, Safety and Fire Exhibition, organised by the Central Industral Security Force (CISF) here, he said it was important to adopt modern technology at the earliest for security purpose since terrorists possessed most modern equipment.

CISF Director General S I S Ahmed, in his welcome address, said the main aim of the exhibition, held outside the National Capital for the first time, was to promote both domestic and international trade, attract new investments, technology transfers and joint ventures, besides attempting to create awareness on emerging security, fire and safety needs.

In all, 47 companies involved in manufacturing security equipment, including two from Gulf countries, were participating in the two-day expo.
