Uma against political interference in religious matters

Sagar, MP, Sep 28 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti President Uma Bharti today alleged that Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was trying to harm the dignity of Kedarnath on the congress behest.

Ms Bharti told reporters here that there must be no political interference in religious matters and that saints could decide the matter among themselves.

Regarding Jain-Hindu clash in Gujarat, she said the Center must not take decisions on religious matters.

The fiery sanyasin said by-elections to Vidisha Lok Sabha and Bada Malehara Vidhan Sabha seats were not a prestige issue.

She said ABVP activists were being unnecessarily harassed in Professor H S Sabharwal murder case in Ujjain.

Ms Bharti added that government was not responsible for 'sati' incidents but social and economic causes were responsible.
