Two killed, 20 injured in van-lorry collision

Kancheepuram, Sep 28 (UNI) Two people were killed and 20 injured when a van in which they were travelling collided with a sand laden lorry at Kizottivakkam near here last evening.

Police said the mishap occurred when Latha, after filing her nomination papers to contest from the Muthialpet village near here for the ensuing local body polls, was returning home with her followers when the Chennai-bound lorry hit the van.

While Ponmathi(35) was killed on the spot, the injured Illamalli(50), admitted to the Govt General Hospital in Chennai succumbed to injuries today, police added.
