Punjab celebrates Bhagat Singh's birth centenary with fanfare

Jalandhar, Sep 28 (UNI) Rallies, conferences, candle vigils, fireworks and sweet distribution marked Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh's centenary anniversary today.

State-level function was held at the Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall here by various organisations, including All India Youth Federation (AIYF), All India Studens Federation(AISF), Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Society and Communist Party of India (CPI), Punjab unit.

A large number of people, particularly youth and students, reached here to participate in the function from different parts of the state.

Programmes like rallies and lighting of candles were also organised at several other places in the state.

The organisers have decided to hold programmes like seminars, conferences, shows based on life and philosophy of Bhagat Singh, throughout the year.
