Panchayat renews licence of Cola company

Palakkad, Sept 28: Weeks after the Kerala High Court quashed the government order banning Pepsi and Coca Cola in the state, the Cola giants had got maufacturing licence for one of its biggest plants at Plachimada near here.

The Perumatty Panchayat, where the Cola plant is situated, had decided to renew the licence to the Cola giant for three months on 13 conditions.

The Panchayat council also said the licence would be cancelled if the company did not adhere to the conditions.

It said the license was being renewed taking into account of the High Court order and also other relevant situations from the recent past.

Earlier, the village council had also offered Coca-Cola a licence valid for three months and with 13 conditions.

But the company had chosen not to accept the licence and the conditions and instead, applied for a new licence.
