NHRC asks Kannur SP to file report on RSS leader's complaint
Kannur, Kerala, Sep 28 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today sought a report from the Kannur District Police Superintendent on the complaint filed by RSS Leader Valsan Thillankery that he was falsely implicated in a murder case.
In a notice, the NHRC asked the police official to file the report within four weeks.
The rights panel took the action on the basis of Mr Valsan's complaint against Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Iritty Circle Inspector Prince Abraham and Sub Inspector Madhusoodhanan Nair.
In his petition, the RSS leader alleged the 'police officials had misused official powers to falsely implicate him in a murder case as directed by the Home Minister.' The police arrested Mr Valsan in connection with the murder of CPI(M) Worker Yakub on June two.
The Kerala High Court granted bail to Mr Valsan on the condition he would not enter the Kannur District.
