New economic policy on the anvil: Mah CM
Mumbai, Sep 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said that a new economic policy with an aim to attract more investment in chemical, food processing, automobile, software, petrochemicals, electronic and pharmaceutical industries would be announced soon.
Speaking at the inauguration of ''Automation 2006'', the third International exhibition and conference at the Bombay Exhibition Ground at Goregaon in North Mumbai, Mr Deshmukh said the government was planning a special package for ''huge projects''.
He said the Centre has sanctioned 26 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) so far in Maharashtra. ''There is good scope for investments for huge projects as Maharashtra has a very good investment climate'', he added.
