NEIGRIHMS organises seminar on non-communicable diseases

Shillong, Sep 28 (UNI) The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) today organised a seminar on Behavioural modification for the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

The programme was presented by renowned Cancer Specialist Padmashree Dr Vinod Kochupillai, Chief International Rotary Cancer Hospital, All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Dr Mishra expressed the need of behavioural modification as a preventive method for reducing the non-communicable diseases like coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, depression etc.

He highlighted the role of various organisations supplementing medical attention for prevention of non-communicable diseases though meditation and yoga support etc.

Dr Vinod Kochupillai reiterated the need of practicing Pranayam and Sudarshan Kriya meditation for the modification of behaviour.
