MTNL slashes prices, ups talk value on recharge cards

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) State-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) while leveraging the festive fever round the corner, has slashed down the prices of the Trump recharge coupons, and increased its talk values on some of its recharge coupons.

''MTNL has always wanted to provide the best possible services at minimal costs and this offer is based on the perspective of allowing our customers to stay in touch with their beloved ones,'' MTNL CMD RSP Sinha said.

The rates that have been modified with effect from 0000 hrs on September 23, 2006, are as follows.

For the Rs 1,785 recharge coupon with present talk value of Rs 1,600 without validity, the new festive talk value is Rs 2,200.

The Rs 675 recharge card, with talk time of Rs 600 will now offer Rs 750 worth talk offer for a validity of 60 days, while the Rs 1,125 recharge card will offer talk time of Rs 1,100 against the present Rs 900, for a 150-day validity.

The Rs 2,250 card will offer talk value of Rs 2,500 from the present Rs 2000 for a 360 day validity period, while the Rs 2,700 card will give the customers a talk time of Rs 3,000, for a 3 year validity.

MTNL had recently launched the 'MTNL buddy', the E-news letter to connect with the customers.

The company has also been in the forefront of technology induction by converting 100 per cent of its telephone exchange network into the state-of-the-art digital mode.
