MP Govt's achivement recognised at national level

Bhopal, Sep 28 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh BJP today passed a political resolution during its state executive meeting here asserting its recognition at the national level for overall development achieved by the state government.

State BJP President Satyanarain Jatia, while distributing copies of the political resolution to reporters, said state BJP general secretary Anil Madhav tabled the resolution, while it was approved by state party secretary Roop Pamnani.

The political resolution stated that Madhya Pradesh had been declared a 'fast moving state' by a national weekly and the President presented a certificate in this regard to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad had also lauded the state for remaining first in the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

After the BJP came to power, power generation had increased by 1,000 MW.

According to the resolution, the state government organised 'Kisan Panchayat' in the state capital in order to resolve problems of farmers in the peasant-dominated state.

A 'Mahila Sashaktikaran Panchayat' was also organised in Bhopal for empowering women, while five per cent DA was increased for government employees and anomalies in the fifth pay scale for them were removed.

Respecting public sentiment, the state government declared public holiday on 'Varsh Pratipada', while 50 per cent grant was announced for pilgrims undertaking 'Mansarovar Yatra' keeping in view the 'Sarvdharm Sambhav (positive secularism)' principle.

The resolution pointed out that although the state government had assessed a loss of Rs 2,000 crore during floods and heavy rain in 24 districts, the Centre had provided flood assistance of mere Rs 196 crore.

However, the government had tried to provide best relief with the available resources.

The resolution criticised the main opposition Congress for playing with public sentiments by raising negative issues.
