MP Board revises exam fee

Bhopal, Sep 28 (UNI) Without changing the examination fee of regular students, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has revised the fee for private students from Rs 300 to Rs 500 for the 2007 examination.

The Board also announced that students from outside the state would be allowed to appear in high school and higher secondary examination as private candidates without the stipulation of being bonafide resident of the state.

The Board is planning to destroy all documents in its possession for the period from 1935 to 1960. Tbose desiring to have copies of documents of that period could apply to the board till December 31 this year, says a release.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government has enforced the Students Welfare Assistance Rule 2006 from August 15 after abolishing the Student Welfare Rule 1984 which provided for extending assistance to students of SC, ST and denotified castes.

Under the 2006 rule, maximum assistance of Rs 25,000 would be given to the next of kin of students who died during their stay in hostels or ashrams. Those students who avail financial assistance on the basis of fake certificate would be rusticated from the institution and the assistance recovered.

Students will also be given financial assistance in cases of casual tragedy, treatment of specific diseases and participation in dance, sports and other cultural activities.
