Mizoram govt to amend various state departments

Aizawl, Sep 28 (UNI) The Mizoram government today announced to set up Urban Development and Poverty Allevation Department (UDPAD) in its administration.

Local administration department secretary J C Ramthanga told UNI here today that the government has also decided to rename relief and rehabilitation department as disaster management and rehabilitation department.

Vigilance would also be soon bifurcated from Excise department, he added.

Governor M M Lakerha had already issued a notice to amend the list of departments in first schedule under rule 3 of government, with immediate effect.

The move came after the recent Cabinet meeting has accepted to introduce a new Municipal bill in the next assembly session to be held from October 17.
