Mizo Govt MoU with ICICI for medical benefits

Aizawl, Sept 28: Mizoram government has signed a multi-crore MoU with one of the leading financial institution, ICICI Lombard, to provide medical coverage for its employees here.

According to the MoU, the ICICI Lombard would be giving an offer of Rs 17.23 premium with a service tax of Rs.12.24 per cent that sums up to about Rs 20 crore.

The company would give an annual coverage of Rs 2.5 lakh per family.

Earlier, the state government employees were able to avail a benefit of medical benefits of only Rs 9.15 lakhs per year.

There are about 15,000 government employees in various department.
