Met Dept forecasts rains during pujas

Kolkata, Sep 28 (UNI) It is said when Goddess Durga comes in a 'Dola' (Swing) then it rains heavily.

Proving the saying partly correct it drizzled in parts of the city on Mahashasti(the first day of Durga puja) today.

The city experienced a partly cloudy sky since morning but dark clouds gathered later giving an impression of heavy downpour.

However, the met department has forecasts a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain in the evening.

They have also warned fishermen near the coastal areas not to venture into the sea due to a cyclonic circulation marked in the Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rains are likely to occur in northern parts of the state and its adjoining areas.

Today's maximum temperature was 32 degree Celsius and minimum 27 degree Celsius. The relative humidity was 95 per cent.
