Mamata feigning illness : CPI(M)
Kolkata, Sep 28 (UNI) Refusing to give credence to the sudden illness of Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee, the CPI(M) today said she was feigning to serve some purpose.
"Mamata must have some purpose and she has been admitted to nursing home to fulfil it," CPI(M) State Committee Secretary Biaman Basu said.
The Trinamool supremo was admitted to a city nursing home early today after she complained chest pain and breathlessness.
Her party alleged that the leader had fallen ill because of the injuries she had allegedly suffered at the hands of police during a demonstration agasint distribution of compensation cheques among farmers who had handed over land to the Government for the Tata Motors' small car project at Singur.
In reply to a question on the assertion of Congress that the party was not against setting up of industries in the state, Mr.Basu shot back : "then why did the Congress was in the joint drama with the Trinamool. They are always against development of the state" Mr Basu was making an obvious reference to yesterday's joint procession of the leaders of both the parties taken out in the city in protest against the "police attack" on Ms Banerjee and acquisition of agricultural land for the Tata Motors' small car project at Singur in Hooghly district.
