Indian suspect in hospital after alleged third degree treatment
Dubai, Sep 28 (UNI) An Indian, who is a suspect in the murder of a compatriot jeweller, is in a critical condition in a hospital after alleged third degree interrogation by the police.
Abdul Khader, a Keralite, was taken into custody a fortnight ago by the Kuwait police along with some other suspects for interrogation in connection with the murder of Mr Augustine, a partner at Aishwarya Jewellery.
The 50-year old jeweller, whose wife and children are away in Cochin, was found dead in his apartment a month ago with hands and legs bound.
There were no signs of theft or burglary in the house, but a few passports were found scattered around.
Initially police suspected that people, who pledged their passports for loans with Mr Augustine, might be behind the death.
However, unofficial sources said Mr Augustine had an affair with a married woman, whose husband had avenged the infidelity by murdering him, before fleeing to Lebanon.
