Indian firms have increased their global reach, says SAP
Mumbai, Sep 28 (UNI) Leading Indian firms such as Titans, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra &Mahindra,Indian Oil Corporation(IOC),ITC-IBP, Apollo Tyres, Reliance energy, Sundram Clayton, Bharat Petroleum, Oil&Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC) and a few others were presented with the first 'SAP Customer Excellence Award' in recognition of their increasing global reach.
The awards delivered in different categories had joint winners. In all 84 applications were received from Indian and Srilankan entrepreneurs for the prestigeous award.
The colorful ceremony held here last evening also saw Lankan firm 'Hemas Holdings' being honored with the award for effective implemention of SAP business solutions in the Island country.
Speaking on the occasion, Allen Sedgi, President&CEO of SAP for India&Sub Continent said,'' SAP commits investment of USD one billon for India operation in the coming few years. In addition will also double the employee headount by 2010''.
Further, he said,'' E-learning facilities will be provided in Tier-II cities across the country, for which plans are in the pipeline. Training will also be imparted to 1,50,000 people as SAP consultants by 2010''.
Leo Apothekar, President, Customer Solutions and Operations, passionately said that the real heroes are the awardees, who toiled their way up overcoming every obstacles during their cycle of growth.
As a matter of caution, he advised entreprenuers and potential players to abide by the concept of best business practice to excel globally.
Adding further, Hans Peter Klaey, President&CEO of SAP, Asia Pacific, said that players should perform good things and talk about good practices.
Klaey stressed that, SAP's intiative is to increase visibility in the game of business and the awards are being given to those, who have walked that extra mile hard work from the global business perspective.
