HM militant killed in Doda

Jammu, Sep 28 (UNI) Security forces shot dead a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) militant in Along Dassa Nullah in Doda district of Jammu and Kahsmir last night, officials today said.

A joint team of Army and police, on a tip off, had laid a cordon to nab Roshan Din Gujjar, a 65 years old HM militant, who came to his residence in Ramban. Gujjar was shot dead when he tried to escape after he realised he was surrounded. An AK-47 rifle, two magazines and 60 rounds were recovered from him.

The slain militant was wanted for his involvment in series of subversive activities in the district, official said.

Meanwhile, in another operation, security forces have holed up three militants in Sangaldan area in Udhampur district. The encounter was continuing where reports last came in.
