Haryana govt to go ahead with Reliance SEZ
Chandigarh, Sep 28 (UNI) The Haryana government will go ahead with the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to be set up by the Reliance despite protests and threats by the opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).
''The SEZ will be set up despite threats by the opposition,'' Irrigation and Revenue Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said while talking to reporters here.
When his attention was drawn to the fact that the INLD had threatened that it would not allow the transfer of land for the SEZ, Capt Yadav said, ''If they will try to obstruct the project, law will take its own course.'' INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala had recently threatened that his party would not allow the government to transfer ''even an inch of fertile land'' of the state to Reliance. ''Whoever will eye our land, their eyes will be gouged out,'' Mr Chautala had said at the Meham rally of the party on September 25.
On Mr Chautala's allegations of corruption against Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Capt Yadav said such charges were ridiculous as they were coming from a person who was facing a CBI probe for having allegedly ammassed over Rs 1,400 crore by corrupt means.
