Thane, Sept 28: Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray has urged Thaneites to give his party one more chance to serve them.

Mr Thackeray who was here last evening to participate in a host of civic functions, including inauguration of nature park, civic parks, health centre among others said, during Sena's tenure in the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) it had undertaken several projects and had lived upto people's expectations.

He said nothing was wroing in throwing open these projects to the people. He further said, ''Various civic projects should not be linked to the forthcoming civic election.'' Talking about the Belgaum issue, the Sena president directed BJP to pull down Karnataka government for making Kannada compulsory on Marathi speaking people living in Belgaum. He also said the Marathi speaking people of Belgaum have from time to time expressed their feelings over Belgaum issue, but by giving the status of capital to it, the Karnatka government was provocating them.

Mr Thackeray declared that the final decision regarding the Chimur Assembly constituency will be taken after due deliberations and opinions are sought from Sena men in October 11 meeting. There has been a long fight between BJP and Shiv Sena over the issue with both the parties not willing to compromise.

Thane Mayor Rajan Vichare, Sena MP Prakash Paranjpe, District Chief Ekanth Shinde, Sena leader Subash Desai and Civic Commissioner Sanjay Sethi were also present during the function.
