Four sentenced for possessing 'charas'

New Delhi, Sept 28 (UNI) A local court today sentenced four persons to rigorous imprisonment ranging between 12-15 years on charges of possessing charas.

Additional Sessions Judge N K Gupta sentenced Dinesh and Sanjay to 15 years rigorous imprisonment for possessing eight and ten kilograms of charas respectively and 12 years RI to Pravin and Satish for being found in possession of five kilograms each of the same drug.

The court also fined Dinesh and Sanjay Rs 1.5 lakh and Pravin and Satish Rs one lakh.

Residents of Mongolpuri, the accused were arrested on January 31, 2001 from Pitampura in North-West Delhi.
