Complete all irrigation projects on time :CM
Hyderabad, Sep 28 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to complete all the ongoing and planned irrigation projects on time.
Addressing a meeting of top officials of different departments concerned with the execution of irrigation projects, Dr Reddy told them to complete the projects on time. He directed them that water should be released to 7.52 lakh acres of land by the end of the ongoing Khariff season (November-December 2006).
The Chief Minister said the government would go ahead with the ongoing Dummugudem, Devadula lift irrigation scheme first phase, Telugu Ganga, Godavari Lift and other major projects to provide water for lakhs of acres of lands and drinking water for thousands of villages.
He said he would make a strong presentation of the Andhra Pradesh's case during the meeting of the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Chattisgarh, convened by the Central Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Souz on October 4, 2006, to get faster clearance of inter-state disputes.
