Communists' eloquent support for Chinese FDI 'rank hypocrisy': BJP

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Taking a dig at the CPI-M's 'eloquent defence' of the foreign Direct Investment from chinea into sensitive areas, the BJP today said it was amused at the rank hypocrisy of the left -- and institutionalised opponent of all FDIs in the country.

BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said it was amused and surprised at the arguments of the Left Parties seeking FDI from Chinese companies against whom issues of national security reports were pending.

''This is classic case of rank hypocrisy,'' he said, referring to the newspaper reports that the Communists were pressurising the government to allow them investments in telecommunications and port sectors.

The reports said that the government had refused Chinese investments in included Vizhinijam Deep Water International Transhipment Termnial near Thiruvananthapuram to two Chinese companies while the Chinese company, with 800 employees in Bangalore, was denied permission to invest 60 million dollars.
