New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) The Central Information Commission(CIC) has directed the Employees Provident Fund Organisation to disclose file notings to a suspended employee.

The CIC decision came on an appeal by Ms Varsha Desai of Valsad district of Gujarat against the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) of the Regional Provident Fund organsiation (RPFO), Ahmedabad.

In her application addressed to the CPIO on November 11 last year, Ms Desai had sought information regarding her service particulars pertaining to the period -- February 7 to November 11 -- when she was under suspension, and supply of full set of related documents.

The CPIO informed her that the papers connected with her disciplinary case would be furnished to her during the course of hearing. Then she filed an appeal to the Apellate Authority (AA) of the EPFO.

The AA also held that some of documents sought for by her had already been furnished and some would be furnished during the course of hearing of her case, but those which required disclosure of file notings could not be furnished.

Thereafter, Ms Desai approached the Information Commission which held that ''the appellant is entitled to get all the information sought for including file notings as they are not exempt from disclosure.'' It directed the CPIO to furnish copies of the information sought by the appellant within 15 days of receipt of this Decision.
