Boy killed in Imphal fire

Imphal, Sep 28 (UNI) A seven year old boy died in a fire that broke out at his house late last night here.

Police said, the boy succumbed to the burns immediately, whereas, his parents and elder brother have sustained major injuries in the fire that broke at their residence.

Police said the cause of the fire might be the petrol kept inside the house.

All injured ones were rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital here and were in critical conditions, police said.

Meanwhile, a man had reportedly burnt the shops, used by a few women to sell goods, in the centre of the city last night.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

Police is investigating the matter to ascertain the motive behind his conduct.
