Artist recreates Goddess Durga on sand

Puri, Sep 28 (UNI) As Durga Puja is being celebrated across the country, a sand artist on the golden beach here recreated the image of Goddess Durga on sand.

Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik, with the help of his Golden Sand Art Institute, used nearly seven tonnes of sand to recreate the face of the Goddess.

Mr Pattnaik said Durga Puja being an important festival of the Eastern part of the country, he had chosen Puri, a holy city of the region to celebrate the festival through his sand art.

The sand artiste has participated in more than 29 international sand sculpture championships across the world, he created face of Goddess Durga in middle of the eye ball in five hours.

Recently, he celebrated the famous Ganesh Puja in Puri by recreating the image of lord Ganesha.
