Army operation dampen puja spirit

Guwahati, Sept 28: With the beginning of the Durga puja in Asom, the festive spirit is palpable in all spheres of life, specially in the urban areas, but it has been dampened by the renewed Army operation in mofussil areas.

Guwahati alone has 342 Pujas pandals.

An Army spokesman from Tezpur said in view of the Puja festivities, the visibility of the Army operation have been reduced so the ground situation remains normal.

In the past 48 hours there has been no report of any militancy- related incident. The capital city wears a festive look.

Since this afternoon massive arrangements have been done to coordinate the traffic.
