45 houses gutted in fire in Doda
Jammu, Sep 28 (UNI) Forty five houses were completely gutted and property worth several lakh destroyed in an accidental fire in village Kadarna-Marwah in Kishtwar division of the Doda district.
Official sources said no loss of life and injury was reported in the incident that occurred yesterday night. However, unofficial reports said that fire has caused huge loss of live stock and property.
It was reported that the fire started accidentaly from one house and spread to other houses in the village. It continued till last night completely gutting 45 houses. Villagers efforts to stop the fire went in vain.
Sources said the local administration is trying to assess the loss to provide help to the affected families.
Meanwhile, Chairman (MOS) J K State Social Welfare Board and MLA Inderwal assembly constituency G M Saroori, has expressed his grief and sorrow over the incident.
He has demanded the government to take immediate measures for providing suitable relief and shelter besides free ration to the affected people.
