SRA scam accused remanded to judicial custody till October 11
Mumbai, Sep 27 (UNI) All the seven persons arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths in connection with irregularity in the 2001 Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme have been sent to judicial custody till October 11 by the special ACB court.
All of them were produced before special ACB judge P N Deshmukh today.
Meanwhile, Subhash Velji Chawda, architect, who was among the arrested, have filed his bail application, which will come up for hearing on Friday.
Six others which included developers, SRA and Municipal officials in the same case had already filed their anticipatory bail plea last week which will also come up for hearing on Friday.
The ACB had initiated the arrest following a complaint filed by one Arun Ramavatar Pathak last year alleging that there were irregularities in the distribution of flats under the SRA scheme.
He also stated that in 2001, Siddhi Vinayak Cooperative Housing Society under the SRA scheme, the developers with the connivance of the officials indulged in irregularities and made allotments to 95 fictitious tenants.
