'Jewels of India' exhibition in Bangalore from Sept 30
Bangalore, Sep 27 (UNI) Over 100 top jewellers from across the country will participate in the 'Jewels of India', a four-day jewellery exhibition here from September 30.
Talking to newspersons here, Expoworld Convener Sandeep Bekal said the number of visitors was expected to cross 80,000 this year as against 55,000 in the previous edition.
The exhibition would feature a wide variety and range of jewellery like the exquisite Kundan and Meenakari work from Jaipur, the world famous handcrafted gold jewellery from Kolkata, antique and traditional gold jewellery from Tamil Nadu, designer diamond pieces from Mumbai, North Indian jewellery from Delhi and modern Italian gold jewellery, he said.
Noted actress Shobhana, the Brand Ambassador for the expo, said ''a woman's choice of showing herself reflects her intelligence. It need not be through costly jewellery. I prefer traditional jewellery and have inherited jewels from my ancestors.'' The special feature of the eighth edition of the exhibition was the participation of over 20 jewellers from Jaipur and Surat.
