SOFIA, Sep 27 (Reuters) Bulgaria said today it would send a frigate to join the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon.

A German-led UN fleet is monitoring Lebanon's Mediterranean coast to enforce a UN embargo on military supplies to Hizbollah.

''Bulgaria's 'Drazki' frigate will be in the territorial waters from October 15 until December 15 up to 50 miles from the coastline,'' Bulgarian Defence Minister Veselin Bliznakov told Bulgarian radio.

Bulgaria's government is expected to approve the decision at a meeting on September 29.

Since the 34-day war between Israel and Lebanese Hizbollah guerrillas ended in August, Israeli forces have gradually been pulling out of south Lebanon and thousands of UN troops have moved in.
