VHP not connected with Haj House controversy: Giriraj Kishore

Jaipur, Sep 26 (UNI) Terming the Haj House controversy a purely political matter, Vishwa Hindu Parishad's international general secretary Acharya Giriraj Kishore today denied his party's connection with the issue.

Talking to reporters before leaving for Delhi, Acharya Kishore said VHP did not want to get involved in any political controversy as the Haj House was a political issue.

He also warned that action would be taken against any VHP activist who participates in the agitation against it.

Denying any rift with the state government over appeasing Muslim minorities, Acharya Kishore clarified that Vasundhara Raje government was doing good work and had taken many positive steps for the betterment of Hindus. He emphasised that VHP had no differences with the BJP government in Rajasthan.

Asked about the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the VHP leader said the foundation of the temple would be laid within two years but could not confirm the period for the completion of the temple.

However, the state VHP had said they would not let the Haj House be built in the Hindu-dominated Sanganer area at any cost and pledged to organise protests and rallies all over the state.

VHP's co-organising secretary (regional), Jugal Kishore, said the decision to build the Haj House was BJP government's policy to appease the minorities.

Mr Kishore had said the VHP was not against the government's decision to build the Haj House but it was against its building in a Hindu-dominated area. He said the land where it was proposed to be built was a pastoral land apart from being a holy place of folk deity Bhaironji.
