One person killed in Bhilad in an encounter with police

Surat, Sep 26 (UNI) One person was killed in an encounter between the Valsad police and an eight-member dacoit gang in Bhilad, 40 km away from Valsad district headquarters, today.

Two persons were arrested in this connection.

The killed person was identified as Ajay Vijay Chaudhuri.

Valsad superintendent of police Abhay Singh Chudasma told UNI that the gang was operating in Bhilad.

According to the district police officials, the gang from Uttar Pradesh was a group of robbers operating in Bhilad area.

However the two were arrested from Maharashtra, police said.
