Factional clashes of NSCN continues in Zunheboto

Kohima, Sep 26 (UNI) In a continued inter-factional clash, the NSCN factions exchanged fire in three places under Zunheboto district of Nagaland yesterday.

NSCN (K) spokesman Isak Sumi claimed here today that a rival cadre died in the first clash at Iphonumi village, about 20 kms away from the NSCN-IM designated camp at Ghatashi, in Zunheboto district.

A binocular and a rucksack bag were seized from the rival cadres from the spot. However, sources said that a NSCN-IM member was injured in the clash.

In another incident at Akuhaito village under Atoizo sub-division under Zunheboto district, a group of NSCN-IM cadres, suspected to be inmates of Ghatashi militant camp, were waylaid by NSCN(K) cadres.

Though there was heavy exchange of fire no casualty has been reported.

Another clash took place at Khrimitomi village under Zunheboto district at around noon yesterday but no casualty has been confirmed.

Another report said the situation near the Doyang bridge under Wokha district of Nagaland was tense following reports about movement of the rival cadres in the area.
