Anomalies of Fifth Pay scale removed
Bhopal, Sep 26 (UNI) In a move to remove anomalies of the fifth pay scale, the Madhya Pradesh Government today accepted the recommendations of a secretarial committee -- headed by the Chief Secretary -- constituted to look into the recommendations of the Brahmaswaroop Committee.
A state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today took the decision.
As per the secretarial committee's recommendations, increased pay scale had been sanctioned for different posts.
However, tahsildars and naib-tahsildars would get the pay scale recommended by the Brahmaswaroop committee, while pay scale of no government servant had been reduced, according to an official release here today.
The acceptance of these recommendations would entail an additional financial burden of Rs 410.49 crore and an annual additional burden of Rs 42.54 crore on the government exchequer.
A committee headed by former chief secretary Brahmaswaroop was constituted on August 27, 1997 by the state government to amend, change and revise the pay scales and consider the service conditions of the government servants. The committee submitted its report on May 29, 1999.
A secretarial committee -- constituted to examine the recommendations of the Brahmaswaroop committee on August 31, 1999 -- submitted its report on June 12, 2003.
Another secretarial committee headed by the Chief Secretary was formed on August 7, 2005 to look into the recommendations of the Brahmaswaroop committee.
The committee considered the recommendations of the Brahmaswaroop committee in section 2 chapter-7 of its report and the court cases of Commerce and Industries, Employment and Energy departments on October 26, 2005 and gave its recommendations to the Cabinet on January 17, 2006.
