Pak for peaceful solution to all issues with India
Islamabad, Sep 25: Pakistan today said it desires peaceful negotiations with India on all issues, particularly the issue regarding Jammu and Kashmir, in a sincere and purposeful manner.
''Our efforts to remain engaged in the peace process [with India] also stems from this desire,'' foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam told a press briefing here.
She said the India-Pakistan anti-terrorism institutional mechanism, agreed to be put in place by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President General Pervez Musharraf was aimed at fighting terrorism and helping both the countries prevent acts of terrorism.
Adding Ms Aslam said both India and Pakistan have their targets and priorities in this respect.
The spokesperson when asked about the Foreign Secretary level talks said the dates would be announced through mutual consultation.
During their meeting on the margins of the NAM summit in Havana, Pakistani and Indian leaders had directed their foreign secretaries to immediately resume peace talks, which India had suspended days after Prime Minister Singh accused that elements across the border was involved in the July 11 serial bombings in Mumbai.
