CJI urges local courts to run two shifts to expedite cases
Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) With a view to undertaking speedy disposal of cases, session courts' across the country should run in two shifts to conduct trials as cases were accumulating day-by-day, Chief Justice of India Y K Sabarwal said here today.
Delivering a speech at the 150th anniversary of Government Law College at Y B Chavan auditorium here, Mr Sabarwal said sessions court should run double shifts on a pilot basis for speedy disposal of justice at minimum expenditure, a release said.
Mr Sabarwal further stated that lawyers should work as 'Sevaks' of the society.
Rajasthan Governor Pratibhatai Patil, Higher Education Minister Dilip Valse-Patil, Supreme Court Justice S H Kapadia, Bombay High Court Chief Justice V G Palsikar and other high profile delegates were present at the function.
