Militants to be handed over to Meghalaya Police

Agartala, Sept 23: A few Meghalaya militants and six family members of Nine Hynewtrip National Liberation Council (HNLC), who had surrendered before the 192 battallion of Border Security Force (BSF) at Hirachara in Tripura, will be handed over to the Meghalaya Police very soon.

The BSF cadres had arrested 10 members of the NHLC from Hirachara near Bangladesh border while they were trying to sneak into India.

The BSF Inspector General (Tripura, Cachar and Mizoram Frontier) S.K Dutt told UNI that the formalities for handing them over to the Meghalaya Police has been completed.

'' But we will hand them over to the Kailashahar police first.

After that they will hand over to the Meghalaya Police,'' said Mr Dutta.
