Establish medicinal plant firms: Singpho
Itanagar, Sept 23: Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Health and Family Welfare C.C.Singpho has urged the local entrepreneurs as-well-as national and multinational companies to establish herbal medicinal firms in the state.
Speaking on a two-day national seminar on ''Prevalent Diseases in North-East India and its Herbal cure'' here today, the minister said the state government would provide incentives to those entrepreneurs who, would come forward for cultivation of herbal medicines in the state.
Stating that Buddhist countries like, China, Japan, Sri Lank, Thailand and Burma were depending on ayurvedic treatment because of its zero side effects, Mr Singpho claimed that most of these countries were looking towards North East region, a treasure trove for herbal medicine.
Speaking on the occasion Secretary Rama Krishna Medical Hospital (RKMH) Swami Vishwatma Maharaj said that people at recent times were attracted towards ayurvedic, Ayush and Homeopathic treatment following side effects anti-biotic in allopathic medicines. ''The government should authorized all the traditional medicinal practioners in the state for the benefit the people'', he said adding such traditional treatment was far better than normal medical treatment.
