Hindustan Zinc slashes zinc price by Rs 400

Mumbai, Sept 23: The public sector Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) today announced that it had cut zinc prices by Rs 400 per tonne, equivalent of 0.22 percent, to Rs 1,78,500 per tonne.

Further, the company's release said it is the second revision of zinc prices in the last nine days as HZL had cut prices by Rs 14,400 per tonne e on September 14, 2006.

Meanwhile, the company has effected an increase in the price of lead by Rs 2,200 a tonne to Rs 72,700 per tonne, it said.
