Rtd French Military officer murdered

Puducherry, Sep 22 (UNI) A 72-year-old retired French military officer was murdered here last night, police today said.

According to police, a five-member gang armed with deadly weapons entered the bungalow of J S Anthuvan at the Labourdene Street in the town.

After overcoming stiff resistance from the servants, the gang attacked Anthuvan and slit his throat, killing him on the spot before escaping under the cover of darkness.

Senior police officials, including SSP B Srikanth and Superintendent of Police (North) Ramesh Kandan, rushed to the spot.
