Deora asks Mah Govt to reduce sales tax on petrol and diesel
New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Centre has again asked the Maharashtra Government to reduce the sales tax on auto fuel which is as high as 33 per cent.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora held a meeting with Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar on this issue and the latter also favoured the idea of reduction in sales tax.
Mr Deora reassured petrol and diesel dealers in Maharashtra that he would take up their case with the state government again.
Mr Deora will again meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Monday to discuss the issue.
