Left parties satisfied with UPA govt: Digvijay
Jalandhar, Sept 21: Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today claimed that the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre was enjoying the goodwill of the Left parties and it would complete its full five year term in office.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Singh said that the UPA Government at the Centre was doing very good work on the basis of the agreed Common Minimum Programme (CMP) and the left would continue to extend support to the government.
Over reported unhappiness of Left Parties on the government's failure in containing prices of essential commodities, Mr Singh said that the Left had made clear their intentions more than once that they would not pull down the government.
Over a question on the recent talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf, Mr Singh welcomed the resumption of dialogue and said that it was wrong to say that India had taken a U-turn in its approach and strategy against the menace of terrorism.
On the Congress prospects in his home state of Madhya Pradesh, the former Chief Minister arrested that his party would form the next government in that state in the next election.
