Srinagar, Sep 21 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) today raided 15 permises of seven engineers and traders across the state, a VO spokesman said this afternoon.

He said in an effort to unearth property acquired by the government officials by indulging in corrupt practices and cases of misappropriation of funds, the organisation raided 15 permises owned by seven officers and a trader at Jammu, Doda, Kishtwar, Kud in Jammu region and Anantnag, Srinagar and Badgam in Kashmir valley.

He said the VO had registered four FIRs against the officers Abdul Hamid Shawl, Executive Engineer, Power Development Department (PDD) Bijbehara, Haji Abdul Rashid, Executive Engineer, Mechanical Irrigation Division Shadipora, Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, then executive engineer (under suspension), roads and buildings division Khanabal and Ashwani Kumar Assistant Exeutive Engineer, maintinance and rural electrification division Poonch for possessing assets disproportional to their known source of income.
