Hubli, Sep 20: The Karnataka government has decided to go ahead with implementation of Kalasa Banduri drinking water project without waiting for the clearance from the Union Government, Minister for Water Resources K S Eshwarappa said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would perform bhoomi pooja on September 22 at Kanakumbi in Khanapur Taluk of Belgaum District.
He said the Centre had kept the project in abeyance, though cleared four years back, following objections from Goa government stating the project would affect its flora and fauna.
