Doctors to lose public sympathy, Nitish
Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said doctors would lose public sympathy if they proceeded on the strike demanding rescue of their colleague Radhika Raman Prasad who was abducted on September 17.
Mr Kumar said police was working to rescue the abducted doctor and the strike would only harm as they would lose public sympathy.
''Abduction was a challenge for the government,'' he said, adding it is an abduction of a citizen and not a doctor only. Police were active in this case not because of the threats and ultimatums of the doctors but to enforce rule of law, he added.
He said the government would not tolerate if any person dies for want of medical treatment due to the strike.
He appealed to the doctors not to proceed on strike in the interest of common people.
