Shivraj Patil to address 20th Western Zonal Council meeting in Goa

Panaji, Sep 19 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj V Patil will address the 20th meeting of the Western Zonal Council to be attended by Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa here tomorrow.

Besides two Union Ministers of State for Home Manikrao H Gavit and S Regupathy, Union Home Secretary V K Duggal and Goa Chief Secretary J P Singh will participate in the crucial meeting.

They are likely to review the security perception in the wake of the recent blasts in Mumbai and Malegaon and preventive measures to ensure safety of life and property through strengthening of policing and intelligence networks.

Mr Patil, who would be put up in Raj Bhawan, would address a press conference before leaving for Delhi the same afternoon, according to an official communique here today.
