SAD to take legal course in City Centre scam: Sukhbir Badal
Jalandhar, Sep 19 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) general secretary Sukhbir Singh Badal today said his party is comtemplating legal proceedings if the police failed to take appropriate action in the complaint filed by the SAD against Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, his cabinet colleague Chaudhary Jagjit Singh and others in Ludhiana's alleged City Center scam.
Talking to reproters here, Mr Badal said a complaint had already been lodged at the police station concerned in Ludhiana and the party was holding consultations with legal advisors for proceeding to the court if the police failed to take appropriate action against the accused in the case.
He said his party was having enough documentary proof against the chief minister and others in this Rs 2,100 crore scam.
Mr Badal said SAD would also ask the court for issuance of directions to authorities for transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for impartial inquiry.
He said inquiry by the state vigilance bureau was not enough as it was under the control of the chief minister, who himself was an accused in the case.
Charging the chief minister and his colleagues with corruption, Mr Badal said his party would look into all misdeeds of Mr Singh and his ''coterie''.
